Having an anal fissure isn’t a huge deal medically, but it is uncomfortable, if not downright painful and it will have you issuing a feeling of dread when you need to go back to the bathroom. How do you try to do another bowel movement when you are in pain from the last one? Most people will remember the stool that they had the problem with that resulted in the anal fissure in the first place. They likely kept it in too long, or had a very hard time keeping regular and this was time to finally get it out. Though you were successful, in the process you managed to rip the lining of the anal canal. An anal fissure feels like a tear anywhere else on your body, it will feel like it’s exposed and will take time to heal. There will also be pain with subsequent stools, as you are pushing on the damaged area once again.
